Alberta School Initiative

As part of the Alberta School Initiative, over 800 teachers and school staff throughout the province have been trained as mental health first aiders. These individuals are a valuable resource to students and other staff who have questions about mental health or concerns about their students.

Funding for this initiative was provided by Alberta Health and Wellness. Alberta schools were the first in Canada to be offered this opportunity.

Courses offered under this initiative concluded on December 31, 2009. If you are interested in participating in a mental health first aid course, please click here for upcoming courses in Alberta.
